Beyond the fun-filled All-Star match, Alyssa Valdez relished the Premier Volleyball League’s depth, with several rising stars proving that the competition is in good hands.

“It’s great because the players are high-quality,” Valdez said. “We have so much talent, and that’s something to look forward to for Philippine volleyball.”

Valdez and her fellow PVL stars turned the All-Star Volleyball Showcase into a true community celebration, bringing court assistants and line judges into the action on Friday at Candon City Arena.

In a unique twist, Team Heart fielded volunteer court assistant Jhyson Manzano, who delivered a memorable game-winning spike in their 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-17 win over Team Hustle.

“Everyone here is part of the community, including those behind the camera,” said Valdez, who scored 10 points off the bench. “At the end of the day, we’re celebrating volleyball and everyone who’s part of it.”

Valdez also thanked Candon for hosting the showcase and expressed hope for its continuation.

“I hope the All-Star continues so fans can see that we just want to have fun and enjoy,” she said.
“My wish is that we keep spreading good vibes throughout the community, on and off the court.”
