Alex Eala starts clay training ahead of Linz Open debut in Austria image

Alex Eala is getting ready for clay. Rafa Nadal Academy (RNA) posted on its Instagram stories a video of the Filipina star training on the red dirt ahead of her 2026 clay season debut at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz tournament next week in Austria.

Eala was seen getting some practice swings at one of the Academy’s clay courts in Mallorca, Spain. She spent five years training at RNA before graduating in January 2023. Eala has since become the Academy’s most successful graduate, having reached the top 30 of the WTA rankings last month.

The Quezon City native is coming off a Round of 16 finish at the Miami Open, losing 0-6, 2-6 to Karolina Muchova.
