The Portland Trail Blazers spoiled the Golden State Warriors’ 2-0 start with a 139-119 blowout win to earn their first victory of the season.

Playing back-to-back nights, the Warriors started hot with a 9–0 run. However, despite center Donovan Clingan getting into early foul trouble, the Blazers’ offense quickly caught fire, erupting for 41 points in the opening quarter to seize a double-digit lead. By halftime, Portland was firmly in control, up by 13.

Curry tried to will the Warriors back into the game in the second half, leading multiple scoring runs, but each time Portland had an answer. The Blazers maintained their composure and kept the lead in double digits throughout the third quarter.

In the final frame, Portland struck first with six quick points, using another offensive burst to put the game out of reach. The Warriors couldn’t recover, and the Blazers cruised to a comfortable win, pulling off an impressive upset over the Western Conference contenders.

Deni Avdija led the way for Portland with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jerami Grant added 22 points, while Toumani Camara chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. 

For Golden State, Curry finished with 35 points and 6 rebounds, but got little help from the rest of the lineup.
