Alex Eala's bid to win her first-ever WTA Tour title at the 2026 Berlin Tennis Open ended on Sunday (PH time) after she lost to Linda Noskova 2-6, 4-6 in their semifinal clash on Steffi Graf Stadion.
Eala simply had no answer for the eighth-seeded Noskova, who needed just one hour and 10 minutes to record the straight-sets victory.
The Czech star got off to a terrific start, converting all three of her break-point opportunities in Set 1 against Eala.
Noskova sustained the momentum in Set 2, breaking Eala's serve in the third game to grab an early 3-1 lead.
There's no quit with Eala, who responded by winning the next three games to take a 4-3 lead in the second set.
Noskova thwarted Eala's comeback bid, though, capturing the last three games to seal a Finals showdown with Jessica Pegula.
