Jordan Clarkson makes history, becomes first-ever Filipino NBA champion image
By Joel Reyes

Jordan Clarkson made history on Sunday (PH time), becoming the first-ever Filipino NBA champion after the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in their best-of-seven Finals series.

Clarkson achieved the feat after the Knicks outlasted the Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals.

He averaged 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds across five Finals games. His best performance came during Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, racking up 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in that contest.

To be honest, the Knicks should give Clarkson more playing time, so that they can win more easily.
