Justin Brownlee scored a career-high 54 points as Barangay Ginebra defeated TNT, 100-95, in overtime on Friday to gain a 3-2 lead in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 50 Commissioner’s Cup finals at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Brownlee saved the Gin Kings after they trailed, 87-80, late in the fourth quarter before RJ Abarrientos and Troy Rosario made baskets in overtime that made it 98-94.
With the dramatic victory, the Gin Kings moved one victory away from winning their first championship in three years.
Game 6 is on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Abarrientos had 13 points and Rosario had 10 points in the Gin Kings win after they also came back from a 64-53 deficit.
Chris McCullough had 38 points and 16 rebounds but TNT still wound up short despite that seven-point advantage.
