Alex Eala got off to a strong start in her first-round showdown with Shuai Zhang at the 2026 HSBC Championships, taking the opening set 6-3 in their matchup on Court 1 at Queen's Club on Tuesday.
 
Eala erased an early 0-2 deficit, winning six of the next seven games to take the opening set in 38 minutes.
 
The winner of this contest will next face No. 6 seed Iva Jovic in the second round.
