Fresh off a title win at the Birmingham Open, Alex Eala will head straight to Queen's Club to begin her campaign at the HSBC Championships on Tuesday against Shuai Zhang in the Round of 32.
Eala will head to that showdown with momentum on her side, having won five consecutive matches in Birmingham to capture her first-ever championship on grass. She outlasted Nikola Bartunkova 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 in the final to win her second career WTA 125 title.
The Filipina tennis star will next face Zhang, who booked her place in the main draw after beating Hannah Klugman in the qualifiers.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Eala and Zhang on the WTA Tour. Eala rose to 33rd in the live rankings after her latest title win and will look to add some more points with a deep run at the HSBC Championships, which is a WTA 500 tournament.
