Alex Eala's semifinal match against Rebeka Masarova will head into a decider after the Swiss qualifier won the second set 6-4 on Saturday in their Centre Court showdown at the 2026 Birmingham Open.
Eala looked to be on her way to an easy victory after grabbing the opening set 6-2. She then took a 1-0 lead in the second set and had two break point opportunities in the second game for a 2-0 lead.
Masarova managed to escape there and then broke Eala's serve in the fifth game to move 3-2 in front. That service break proved to be enough for Masarova, who claimed Set 2 in 39 minutes.
Eala is seeking her first WTA final appearance of 2026 here in Birmingham.
