The San Antonio Spurs advanced to the Western Conference Finals after dismantling the Minnesota Timberwolves, 139-109, in Game 6 on Saturday morning (PH time) in Minneapolis.
The Spurs came out firing and built an early double-digit lead before halftime. San Antonio kept rolling in the third quarter, stretching the advantage to 110-84 entering the final frame.
Minnesota simply did not have the firepower to climb back as the Spurs continued pouring it on in the fourth, pushing the lead to as many as 37 points.
It was an anticlimactic finish to an intense series, with Wolves coach Chris Finch waving the white flag by pulling his starters with eight minutes still remaining.
Stephon Castle led the charge with 32 points and 11 rebounds. De'Aaron Fox added 21 points, while Victor Wembanyama had a relatively quiet night offensively with 19 markers.
After winning the series 4-2, the Spurs advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2017. They will face the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, who swept the Los Angeles Lakers in the previous round.
