The Minnesota Timberwolves inched closer to recording a stunning series victory over the Denver Nuggets, building a 57-50 halftime lead in Game 6 of their first-round showdown in the 2026 Western Conference Playoffs on Friday (PH time) at Target Center.

The Wolves grabbed the halftime lead despite missing several of their key stars in this contest. Ayo Dosunmu, who has been a revelation in this series, joined Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury.

Minnesota finished the second quarter on a 17-8 run to take a seven-point lead at the break. Jaden McDaniels led the way for the Wolves with 13 points. Julius Randle and Terrence Shannon Jr. also contributed with 12 points apiece.

Cameron Johnson powered Denver's offense with a team-high 15 points. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray added 9 and 6 points, respectively, for the Nuggets, who need a comeback win to avoid an early playoff exit.
