The much-awaited fight between John Riel Casimero and Luis Nery has finally been rescheduled on June 6, this time, at the Saikou X Lush show in Aichi, Japan.
The development came after the supposed April 16 fight in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan was cancelled due to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
With these chages, Casimero is returning to the Land of the Rising Sun where he fought in three of his last four bouts including a knockout win over Tom Mizokoshi last December.
Nery, on the other hand, is returning to Japan for the first time since his loss to undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue in May 2024.
For the 37-year-old Casimero, who boasts a record of 35 wins, five losses and a draw, the fight against Nery should put him back to boxing relevance after a wave of controversies in and outside the ring in the past few years.
Nery, on the other hand, packing a 37-2 record, is looking to pick up his third-straight win since the loss to Inoue.
