ONE Samurai 1 delivered two title-winning performances as Takeru Segawa and Avazbek Kholmirzaev emerged victorious at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday.

In the main event, Takeru captured the ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship with a fifth-round knockout win over Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

The victory served as redemption after his defeat to the Thai superstar in March 2025.

Fighting what he declared as the final bout of his career, the Japanese striking icon showed resilience and urgency from the opening bell. The turning point came in the second round when he scored two knockdowns that shifted momentum in his favor.

Rodtang made adjustments in the middle rounds and kept the contest competitive, but Takeru maintained his pressure. In the fifth round, he delivered two more knockdowns, with the last one leaving Rodtang flat on the canvas for the first time on the ONE Championship stage.

In the co-main event, Kholmirzaev produced a stunning upset by dethroning Yuya Wakamatsu to claim the ONE Flyweight MMA World Title.

The unranked Uzbek challenger silenced the home crowd with a second-round knockout, landing a spinning back elbow that ended the bout decisively.

The finish capped off one of the biggest surprises of the evening and marked a breakthrough moment in Kholmirzaev’s career.

On the undercard, Chihiro Sawada strengthened her case for a title shot with a first-round armbar submission win over Ayaka Miura.

The result could position Sawada as the next challenger to Denice Zamboanga for the ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Championship.

Miura had been scheduled to face Zamboanga at ONE 173 in November 2025 but withdrew due to injury.

With Sawada’s victory, the division’s title picture appears to have shifted.
