Mapua University edged Adamson University, 67-64, in their AsiaBasket National Student Athletes Championship (NSAC) match on Sunday at the UP Varsity Training Center in Quezon City.

Leading the Cardinals was senior Cyrus Nitura, who finished with 14 points and five rebounds as Mapua finally broke into the win column of the preseason tournament after two losses.

Also stepping up was incoming sophomore Basti Reyes, who had 10 points and seven boards, while Cyrus Cuenco and Icee Callangan chipped in nine points each.

On the other hand, Adamson absorbed its third straight loss in as many outings.

Lance Mangaron and Zaheer Sajili paced the Soaring Falcons with 10 points apiece, while Noah Pacquiao added nine, but these weren’t enough for Adamson, which also succumbed to San Beda University on Saturday, 61-66.
