Alex Eala is in serious danger of making an early exit at the 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, losing the first set against Leylah Fernandez in their Round of 32 clash on Centre Court at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. The World No. 25 needed just 36 minutes to take the opening set by a score of 6-1 against the Filipina tennis star.
Fernandez, who is Filipino-Canadian, raced to a 5-0 lead after breaking Eala’s first two service games. The Quezon City native avoided the bagel by holding her serve in the sixth game, but that only delayed the inevitable as Fernandez inched closer to sealing a spot in the Round of 16.
