The Orlando Magic fell to eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings after suffering a 108-113 loss to the Boston Celtics on Monday (PH time) at TD Garden.
It was a costly defeat for the Magic, who finished the regular season with a 45-37 record and will face the Philadelphia 76ers on the road for the 7th seed in the play-in game.

The Magic entered the day with a chance of clinching an automatic playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Toronto crushed Brooklyn, however, leaving Orlando out of the running for the No. 6 seed.
Despite resting most of their key stars, the Celtics stamped their class against the Magic. Baylor Scheierman scored a game-high 30 points for Boston while Luka Garza and Ron Harper Jr. dropped 27 points apiece.

Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs each scored a team-high 23 points for the Magic.
