Team Liquid PH releases AeronnShikii image

Team Liquid PH announced that it has parted ways with Indonesian gold laner Sultan “AeronnShikii” Muhammad after late requirements rendered him ineligible to compete in the ongoing MPL Philippines Season 17.

AeronnShikii was brought in after Kiel “OHEB” Soriano’s sudden resignation left the team scrambling for replacements just days before the roster lock, forcing a late adjustment to stabilize the lineup.

The development, however, stemmed from unforeseen complications, as the team admitted it did not anticipate the additional requirements tied to AeronnShikii’s eligibility, which carried an uncertain timeline ranging from mid-season to as late as the playoff.

With this, Team Liquid PH ultimately deemed too risky to navigate amid the demands of the ongoing campaign.

“The problem was timing. We announced him before we had full clarity on when his pending administrative requirements would be resolved. That was a mistake we own,” said the team in a statement.

“When we finally got clarity, the range was anywhere from mid-season to the start of playoffs. That kind of uncertainty is something we could not build around. Not because of anything AeronShikii did wrong, but because we needed a complete roster from Day 1.”

“Starting MPL without our Gold laner affects our standing, limits what we can develop during the regular season, and cuts into our EWC preparation. We could not do that to the team, or honestly, to AeronShikii either. He deserved to be somewhere he could play.”

Kim “Daiki” Sebanes took over the starting gold lane duties during the opening week, powering the defending champions to a dominant 2-0 start to the tournament.

Team Liquid PH has officially promoted Dave Viaña to its MPL Philippines roster following his stint with Team Liquid Academy in the MDL Philippines.

Teddyqt has already started building chemistry with the main squad, having previously suited up for the team during the SIBOL qualifiers for the Asian Games.

As for AeronnShikii, Team Liquid PH said the Indonesian star has already returned to home and is now working closely with the organization on what comes next for his career and future plans within the team setup.

“He is leaving the bootcamp now. We have been working closely with him on what comes next, and we are in serious talks to make sure he lands well. We will share more on that soon. He showed us a lot, and we respect him for it.”
