The Los Angeles Lakers’ nine-game unbeaten run may have ended on Tuesday (PH time) following their loss to the Detroit Pistons, but Luka Doncic still deserves some recognition for the role he played in his team’s remarkable turnaround.
Doncic, who was named the NBA Player of the Week, entered the record books with his outstanding play during the Lakers’ winning streak. He joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in NBA history to average 40+ PPG over a nine-game unbeaten run.
Doncic stuffed the stat sheet in the Lakers’ 9-0 stretch, averaging 40.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists during that period. He scored 32 points in the Lakers’ 110-113 loss to the Pistons.
