Daniss Jenkins knocked down a go-ahead jumper to put Detroit up by one with 25 seconds remaining.

After a Lakers miss, Jenkins drew a foul on Austin Reaves and calmly sank his free throws to extend the lead to three.

Luka Doncic had one final chance to tie the game, but his attempt from beyond the arc was way off.

Jenkins led the way for the Pistons with 30 points, eight assists, and four rebounds.

Jalen Duren also delivered a strong performance, recording a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Detroit improved to 52-19 despite playing without Cade Cunningham, who remains sidelined due to a collapsed lung. The Pistons will next face the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday.

For the Lakers, losing is not necessarily a bad thing. The recent schedule has been too tiring, and they've been under too much pressure. They need to catch their breath.
