The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is preparing for one of the most remarkable events in combat sports history.
During the broadcast of UFC 326 last Sunday (Philippine time), the Las Vegas-based mixed martial arts promotion officially revealed the bout lineup for UFC Freedom 250, also called UFC White House.
The card is scheduled for June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., marking a historic stage for the sport.
The main event features a lightweight title unification clash between reigning champion Ilia Topuria and interim titleholder Justin Gaethje.
Gaethje secured the interim belt after defeating Paddy Pimblett this past January. The interim championship was created when Topuria stepped away briefly to address personal matters.
Now, “El Matador” returns to defend his place at the top of the 155-pound division in what promises to be a defining contest.
In the co-main headliner, former middleweight and light heavyweight king Alex Pereira attempts to carve his name even deeper into the sport’s record books.
Pereira will meet Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight championship. The bout was arranged as lineal titleholder Tom Aspinall continues his recovery and remains unavailable for competition.
The supporting lineup features several compelling matchups.
Former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley returns to action against Aiemann Zahabi as he looks to extend his current run of victories.
Elsewhere on the card, Mauricio Ruffy meets Michael Chandler in a lightweight joust. Rising contender Bo Nickal squares off with Kyle Daukaus at middleweight, while Diego Lopes faces Steve Garcia in a featherweight duel.
Additional bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The landmark card forms part of celebrations for the United States’ 250th anniversary since the Declaration of Independence, turning the White House grounds into an unforgettable arena for MMA.
