The Los Angeles Clippers erased a 19-point deficit to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies 123–120 on the second night of a back-to-back. The win marks Los Angeles’ fourth victory in its last five games while extending Memphis’ losing streak to three.
The Clippers endured a rough start, going scoreless for four minutes in the opening quarter as Memphis surged to a 41–23 lead. Momentum shifted dramatically in the second period, however, when the Grizzlies managed just 18 points. Kawhi Leonard caught fire with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting in the quarter, helping Los Angeles cut the deficit to just one point at halftime.
The second half turned into a tight back-and-forth battle with multiple lead changes. In the closing minutes, Leonard calmly knocked down two free throws with 1:30 remaining to give the Clippers a 119–118 edge. Jordan Miller followed with two free throws to push the lead to three, before Memphis guard Ty Jerome answered with a late layup.
After Leonard missed a three-pointer in the final seconds, Bennedict Mathurin secured a crucial offensive rebound with 4.4 seconds left and calmly hit both free throws to seal the comeback victory.
Leonard led all scorers with 28 points, while newly acquired Darius Garland added 21 points and six assists, including 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Jerome paced Memphis with 23 points in the loss.
Up next, the Grizzlies will visit the Brooklyn Nets on March 10, while the Clippers return home to host the New York Knicks the same day.
