Brandon Bates of the Meralco Bolts showcased his agility and precision to rule the Big Man edition of the 2026 All-Star Obstacle Challenge on Friday at the Candon City Arena.
Bates clocked 22.86 seconds in the finals to capture the title, outpacing the NLEX Road Warriors duo of Brandon Ramirez and James Laput. Ramirez finished with a time of 23 seconds, while Laput posted 45 seconds.
The former De La Salle University standout put together an impressive run through the bracket. Bates first eliminated Abu Tratter in the quarterfinals before overcoming Henry Galinato in the semifinals to secure a spot in the championship round.
Displaying remarkable speed for a big man, Bates tore through the stages with quick drives and accurate shots, ultimately sealing the win.
