Quatro is set for the most high-profile match of his professional wrestling career when he meets international veteran Kushida in a rare winner-takes-all championship showdown.
The Pinoy fan-favorite will defend the Filipino Pro Wrestling Championship in the main event of FPW Astig 2026 set on March 8 at Baked Studios in Makati City.
What was initially billed as a title defense quickly escalated after FPW President Red Ollero revealed on Sunday that Kushida would also put his Major League Wrestling World Middleweight Title on the line, guaranteeing that the winner leaves with two belts.
The announcement raises the stakes for Quatro, who has long been regarded as one of the pillars of Filipino Pro Wrestling.
His rise began during his breakout run in the now-defunct Philippine Wrestling Revolution, where he emerged as a central figure in the country’s growing local scene.
When the promotion ceased operations during the pandemic, its core talents regrouped under Ollero’s leadership to establish FPW, with Quatro serving as one of its standard bearers.
Standing across the ring from Quatro is one of the most technical competitors in sports-entertainment today.
Kushida transitioned to professional wrestling in 2005 and refined his craft in Mexico, developing a style rooted in lucha libre fundamentals.
The Japanese’s résumé includes championship reigns in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and a successful stint in WWE, achievements that reinforce his reputation as an elite performer with a strong combat sports background.
