The Boston Celtics came out firing after the All-Star break, recording a convincing 121-110 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Friday (PH time) at Chase Center. Jaylen Brown posted a triple-double through three quarters for the Celtics, who improved their record to 36-19.
Brown amassed 23 points, 15 rebounds, and 13 assists in 37 minutes of action. He shot 10-for-18 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. Brown has been a vital cog for the Celtics this season, averaging 29.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game before the All-Star break.
The Celtics pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Warriors 38-19 during that period to build a commanding 74-51 lead at the half. Boston never looked back after that as it secured its 18th away win of the season. Payton Pritchard led the Celtics in scoring, dropping 26 points off the bench in the road victory.
De’Anthony Melton scored a team-high 18 points for the Warriors, who continued to miss the services of Stephen Curry due to a lingering knee injury. Gui Santos and Will Richard each added 17 points for the Warriors, who fell to 29-27 following the home defeat.
Kristaps Porzingis scored 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting in his debut for Golden State.
