Russell Westbrook became the 14th player in NBA history to score 27,000 points, hitting the mark with a free throw midway through the third quarter of the Sacramento Kings’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday (PH time) at Smoothie King Center.
Westbrook needed to score at least 16 points against the Pelicans to reach the historic milestone. He accomplished the feat after knocking down the first of two free throws with 6:46 remaining in the third quarter. Westbrook finished the game with 17 points as Sacramento lost 94-120 to New Orleans.
Westbrook became just the second player in NBA History to score 27,000 points, dish out 10,000 assists, grab 8,000 rebounds, and record 2,000 steals in his career, joining LeBron James on the exclusive list.
